If you want an alternative to Safari on your iOS device so you should try out Opera Mini!

Opera Mini is a stylish and very user-friendly browser. You have easy access to bookmarks, history, homepage, saved pages and settings via a small tab at the bottom. When you start up your browser, you will see the latest and most popular sites you have visited. Very handy if you have regular websites you check often.

We have tested the app on the iPhone, and would say that Opera Mini is a bit better than the built-in Safari browser.

iBooks Author!

From today, we in iAppworld are going to write about Apps and programs for Mac and the iOS.

Yesterday Apple introduced during their event a new software called iBooks Author.This program is designed to make it easy to develop advanced e-books for iBooks.

The program are now available for free on Mac App Store, and can be recognized as a hybrid between Pages and Keynote in iWork.

The program includes a variety of templates, but also lets you easily create books any way you want them. Technology as HTML5, JavaScript, video, multi-touch and sound are supported in the program and can be easily used and included in the e-books created with iBooks Author.

The books produced with iBooks Author can be published to iBooks, but it seems to be limited to the textbook section of iBooks. The opportunities opens to everyone to produce books, picture books, cookbooks and other kinds of books directly to the iBooks, but details of this are still a little uncertain.

3 fun apps you must try!

Sleep talk: is an app where you can find out if you talk in your sleep. Place the phone about 1 meter from the bed, on a table or similar, set how long it will take before it starts recording audio, and then you go to sleep. When you wake up you can check if you have talked while you were asleep. The app will not record a continuous sound. It will only record when the sound is at a certain level. Small and low sounds will not be recorded.

If you think that what you said in your sleep was so funny that others should hear it, you can also share the recordings with the outside world.

Talking BEN the dog: is a very simple and fun app for both children and adults. You can talk to him and he says what you just said with his own voice. One can get him to read the newspaper, drink, eat, burp, mixing formulas and answer the phone. Otherwise, you can also punch, wedge, or snuggle with him. If you want to save something he says you can also record a movie in this app. The film will be stored along with all other files on your phone.

Fatbooth: the thing about this app is really simple. Snap a photo of yourself or others, and let the app make you fat! Very fun and hysterical app that will make everybody laugh, or even shocked! Available in Appstore.

One of the most popular games ever are now in Appstore! And the game we're talking about is...

Grand Theft Auto III !

Grand Theft Auto, also called GTA. Who haven't heard about this game? If you are a heavy gamer or one of the parents who must make sure your kid does not play such games, you've most likely heard of the Grand Theft Auto series. With almost 13 games for different consoles it's Grand Theft Auto 3 from 2001 that has been the flagship for developer Rockstar.


 This was the first game in the series where everything was in 3D graphics. Previously you had to see from above. Now you can see violence, car-hunts, and the missions at hand. This prompted many parents and even the authorities in several countries to see red. But that wasn't the worst that could happen. There were several places in the world where they refused to sell the game because of all the violence that could be made in the game. But this didn't make it better, the more fuss there was about the game the more popular it became. Today, the series is one of the largest and most famous game series ever.

Since it was 10 years ago GTA 3 was released in 2011 they relaunched it iOS on December 15, 2011.The game is exactly the same as what was released for the Playstation 2 in 2011.The story, missions, peoples, cars, city, and the graphics are exactly the same as in 2001. So if you expected something new in this version, you will be disappointed.


The only major difference in the iOS version is the controls. As in all other games for iOS you have the controls on the screen. When to walk or run around town you will get a joystick in the lower left corner. In order to run you must combine it with another "button" on the right side that shows a small picture of a man running. The Jump-function, as well as fighting and stealing cars, is also as separate "buttons" at the bottom right corner. When you find yourself in a car the joystick on the screen will change to two arrows, and gas and brake on the opposite side.
But apart from that you will feel good again if you were one of those who played this game for hours back in 2001.

 So if you want to experience Liberty City again, this is the game for you. Here you will get many hours of fun for a cheap price. Even though the graphics can't compare with today's graphics on the consoles, the game is at least as good as before. Worth the purchase!

New ways to make more life to your photo's with...

Instagram!

Do you take lots of pictures with your iOS device, but are not completely satisfied with the result. Then Instragram is what you need!

Instagram is a great way to improve your photos and share them with your friends or with the outside world. You can add friends, get them to follow you, see the photos you publish, and get them to like and comment on them in the same way as on Facebook.

The pictures you take, you can choose to add a filter that can change the entirelook and feel of your images. Once you have found the filter that looks best on your image, you can add a description, add the place it has been taken by Geotag, or choose to share it on Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, Flickr, Tumblr, Forsquare or Posterous.

The picture will be a time for publication and will appear for your friend.

As you can see, there is a menu at the bottom of the app. In this we have the "Feed" showing pictures from your friends who are posted continuously, "Popular" lists the most popular images from around the world, in "Share" you take pictures or choose one that you already have taken and then add a filter if you want that,"News" shows whether your friends have liked, commented on pictures, or became friends with other Instagram users, and the last tab shows your profile which contains links to your own pictures in Instagram, or pictures you like. You can also edit your profile, or choose whether you want your images to be private or not.

Instagram was app of the year 2011 in the Appstore, and with over 15 million users Instagram shows that this is an app worth having.

Facebook and Twitter!

Both Facebook and Twitter are well-known names to most people. Everyone is talking about Facebook and Twitter almost every day, at least among younger people.
Having the ability to follow other people and take part in what they are doing, is something we do find very fun. Many are concerned with gossip, whether it's about celebrities or friends and acquaintances, then it's Facebook and Twitter you should check first.

Facebook and Twitter goes under what we call social media. In social media you are able to share opinions, stories, photos, video, music, etc., with friends and andacquaintances. Those who see what you post can choose to "Like" what you posted, or comment.

We have taken a closer look at the app to the two largest actors in the social media, Facebook and Twitter.
Facebook app for iOS is very like the online version. You simply got the Facebook webpage in your pocket. The biggest difference between online version and iOS edition is the menu for what you will do. On the top left corner we see a blue square button with 3 lines on. Pressing this will get a menu where you can choose to navigate to different parts of the profile, such as: your own profile, news updates, messages,events, friends, groups, applications, etc. .. Apart from this navigation menu, the Facebook app are very similar to the web version.

The Twitter app for iOS is also very similar to the web version. It has the same menubuttons, and the same opportunities that we have in the web version. The best thing about the whole app is that you can post a tweet when you want and anywhere you want as long as you have coverage on your portable device. This also applies to the extent that Facebook has, but Twitter is better to give information to the public and not just friends and acquaintances.

So, if you don't have these apps, download them now. But just if you use Facebook and Twitter on the net. You will be suprised on how good they are built to look similar to the original version.
